**Description:**
The EMS Instructor/Clinical Coordinator is responsible for scheduling and overseeing
clinical experiences and assisting in the administration and teaching of the EMS
Paramedic Program. Additionally, this position will entail promoting a positive image
through community education in both the healthcare and business fields.
The EMS Instructor/Clinical Coordinator reports directly to the EMS Quality and Training
Manager.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, the EMS Instructor/Clinical Coordinator must be able to
perform each essential requirement to the satisfaction of the EMS Quality and Training
Manager. The requirements listed below represent knowledge, skill and attitude necessary
to fulfill these duties:
At least one (1) year of experience in developing, organizing and teaching within an initial
EMS program.
Has a minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a paramedic.
Has the ability to interact with a variety of people.
Capable of working independently and as a member of a team.
Ability to objectively and accurately evaluate the performance of students within the classroom.
Ability to prepare learning and instructional materials in a variety of methods in all didactic,
psychomotor and affective areas.
Possesses computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office Products).
Has knowledge of adult education principles and techniques.
Possesses knowledge of all local, regional, and state rules and regulations pertaining to EMS
and ambulance operations.
Associates or Bachelor Degree preferred, but not required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
Current State of Michigan Paramedic License.
Current State of Michigan Instructor/Coordinator License, or obtainment of license within
six (6) months.
Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License, with safe driving history.
Current certification as an AHA CPR instructor.
Current certification as an AHA ACLS instructor.
Current certification as a PHTLS/ITLS course instructor.
Current certification as a PEPP/PALS/EPC course instructor.
