Salary:$18.00 - $23.00 per hour Position Details

Overview. The position is responsible for supporting students in achieving their educational, social, and emotional goals.  Paraprofessionals complement teacher’s educational efforts by providing direct support and instruction to students throughout the school day.

Requirements

High school graduate, GED or equivalent of education and training

Additional state and/or local requirements

Background checks as stipulated by local and/or state requirements (e.g., child abuse clearance, criminal history report, etc…)First aid and/or CPR certification as stipulated by local and/or state requirementsRegistration or Certification as required by state requirements.Ongoing continuing education hours as stipulated by local and/or state requirements

Physical Requirements

Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand EnglishMust be able to travel to/from school/work location. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 25 poundsOccasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 poundsProlonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twistingMust be able to sit and climb stairsMust have visual and hearing acuityMust have a strong sense of smell and touchMust have sufficient strength and manual dexterity to safely operate equipment,including grasping and manipulating small objectsMust be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as needed
