Paraprofessional

We are currently seeking a Paraprofessional to join our Business Solutions Group. The BSG group provides entrepreneurial and family-owned businesses accounting, tax and advisory support. From taxation issues and mandatory accounting needs, our expertise can make a substantial difference to entrepreneurs striving to expand their business to a new level and ensure continued success for the next generation.

The individual will be responsible for providing a timely, high-quality and accurate work product and will also be expected to demonstrate professionalism at all times to deliver client service excellence. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Essential Duties: 

Provide superb client service through interaction with clients and their staff, including on-site visits. Ability to multi-task and work within a group. Maintain general ledgers including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash receipts, cash disbursements, journal entries, month-end and year-end close. Bank reconciliations. Accounting for fixed assets and depreciation. Preparation of payroll and sales tax returns. Preparation of property tax forms/returns. Preparation of 1099 and W-2 filings. Special projects and reports.

Qualifications: 

3+ years' experience in a bookkeeping or general staff accountant role. CPA firm experience a plus.  Payroll and sales tax return preparation experience a required. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. Demonstrate professionalism and deliver excellent client service. Exceptional interpersonal skills and pleasant, positive demeanor. Excellent organizational and verbal and written communication skills. Significant working experience with QuickBooks, Word and Excel required. Knowledge of other accounting software (e.g., Sage) a plus. Ability to work additional hours as needed to meet client deliverables. Must have access to a car and be willing to travel locally to clients when required.
