Parent Coach (Safe Way Forward) 9/5/24Part Time--Bronx #### Job ID: 007290 #### Description: Bronx Family Services Center (958 East 176th St) $23 - $25 hourly **Position Summary:**** **The Parent Coach will report to the Safe Way Forward Program Director and provide support and outreach services to child welfare involved caregivers and families who have experienced intimate partner violence.**** **Essential Duties:** * Conduct extensive outreach to families, including home visits.** ** * Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures. * Develop relationships with, and assist, parents whose children are child welfare involved. * Organize and co-lead innovative parenting skills and support groups. * Escort families to appointments and meetings (court, public assistance, food stamps, etc.) * Work as a team member with social workers and housing/benefits specialists. * Participate in frequent case conferences and family team meetings. * Participate in unit meetings and in-service staff training. * Perform other duties as needed. ** ** **Minimum Qualifications:**** ** * High school diploma or GED. * Personal experience with the foster care system as a parent. * Bilingual Spanish/English fluency preferred. **Key Competencies:** * Ability to work with families to negotiate and advocate for needed concrete services.**** * Ability to relate to others. * Reliable and dependable. * Enthusiastic about helping others. * Knowledge and experience with community resources and groups. * Willingness to travel within New York City. ** ** ****It is the policy of Children's Aid to provide equal employment opportunity to all employees and applicants for employment and is dedicated to maintaining a work environment that is free from harassment and discrimination.
