This position focuses on researching legal protections for parenting students, providing access to parent-specific resources, and enhancing campus programming tailored to their unique needs. The role is integral to our efforts to build a welcoming, inclusive, and resource-rich environment for parenting students. **Key Responsibilities:** **Policy Research & Advocacy:** + Research laws and regulations protecting parenting students, with an emphasis on anticipated changes to Title IX. + Develop briefs or presentations to educate staff and students about parenting rights under relevant legislation. **Resource Development & Events Coordination:** + Plan and host a parenting resource fair, inviting representatives from programs such as WIC and SNAP to provide information about benefits, applications, and tips. + Collaborate with campus faculty, such as nutrition instructors, to offer workshops on cost-effective family nutrition using WIC- and SNAP-eligible items. + Create and maintain a directory of local daycare providers, including availability and eligibility requirements. + Compile and distribute resources for extracurricular activities available to low-income families. **Support for Parenting Students:** + Assist in the coordination and facilitation of the NHCC Parent Support Group. + Help organize and implement parent-focused events and initiatives to build a supportive campus community. **Minimum Qualifications** + Current North Hennepin Community College student + Experience co-leading a student parent support group + Microsoft skills; Excel, Word, and Outlook + Interpersonal skills **Work Shift** Day Shift Monday - Friday **Telework (No)** **About** Why Choose NHCC?
