Salary Range: $20.42/hr to $24.51/hr
The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
JOB SUMMARY
The Parking and Transportation Coordinator oversees various areas in the department in overall parking operations, bus and shuttle services, and other modes of transportation to both University of St. Thomas campuses in St. Paul and Minneapolis. This position also assists in supervising student staff, maintaining parking data, understanding parking systems., and working with business office functions. They assist with all aspects of parking on campus for students, faculty, staff, visitors, donors and special events. Lastly, this position is an integral part of providing exceptional customer services to various constituents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
+ Parking Operations Management:Oversees various aspects of parking operations, including permit sales, guest parking, license plate recognition systems, lot and ramp maintenance coordination, and parking enforcement. Coordinates the appeals process, monitors parking citation issuance, and collaborates with Public Safety for enforcement and security measures. In coordination with the Parking & Transportation Manager, develops and implements parking regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and equity.
+ Transportation Services Oversight:Assists with alternative campus transportation programs, including shuttle services, bus pass sales, and bike programs. Champions sustainable transportation initiatives, including non-vehicle and alternative modes of transportation, in alignment with the Campus Sustainability Action Plan. Assists the Parking & Transportation Manager in developing long-term strategies for sustainable parking and transportation systems.
+ Budget and Data Management:Assists in processing invoices and ensures financial compliance within university guidelines. Monitors and assists in permit sales, ramp revenue, and transaction issues for various parking systems.
+ Special Event Coordination:Assists the manager with parking logistics for university events such as funerals, weddings, and large-scale gatherings. Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to address special transportation needs and provide creative parking solutions.
+ Personnel Management:With the Parking & Transportation Manager, assists in hiring, training, and supervising approximately 8-10 student employees in two separate roles including office staff and parking enforcement staff. Oversees scheduling, monitors hours, assists in training and ensures effective use of parking management systems such as T2 and Skidata. Assists in training and managing Public Safety Officers in the parking role and in parking systems.
+ Customer Service and Stakeholder Engagement:Ensures a high-quality, customer-focused approach to all interactions with university stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Responds promptly to customer service inquiries and implements corrective actions to resolve issues effectively. Seeks methods to enhance customer satisfaction through continuous improvement efforts.
+ Technology and Innovation:Stays informed about emerging parking and transportation technologies to develop and implement innovative solutions with the Transportation & Parking Manager. Assists in reviewing and integrating new market ideas to improve university transportation and parking operations. Works with a number of parking programs including T2, Skidata, Security Desk, CSGold, Winscip, and various other programs for managing online payments, permits, vehicle registration, and more.
+ Other Duties:Serves as a backup to the Parking Manager for departmental leadership and operational decision-making. Performs other duties as assigned to support university transportation goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
+ High School Diploma
+ Four years in administrative support or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
+ Experience working in a supervisory role managing and scheduling staff
+ Experience in parking and transportation operations, particularly in a university setting
