Parking Services Assistant
Location: Bowling Green, KY Category: Staff Posted On: Fri Sep 13 2024 Job Description: The purpose of this position is to provide Parking & Transportation Services with special events assistance (days or evenings), evening enforcement (especially Sunday nights), and to provide Business Services additional assistance as needed for Materials Management - Procurement activities. This position reports to the Manager, Special Events, who creates the weekly schedule working with PTS Management and Materials Management. The schedule will be subject to change as campus events evolve. The following duties are customary for this position but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs. + Serve as an ambassador for campus when interacting and assisting customers within the University and the general public. + Provide support in the field to the Special Events Manager in implementing large special event parking operations. These can include equipment management, traffic and lot management, sign placement, cash handling and cleaning up following events. + Enforce parking regulations. Issue citations to vehicles parking in violation of parking regulations, immobilize and/or tow vehicles as warranted. + Recommend improvements to parking regulations and operations as related to their area of responsibility in the department. + Provide assistance to Materials Management -Procurement as needed. + Independently run smaller special event parking operations. + Provide customer service for Alumni Square Garage operations, particularly when working enforcement in the evenings. + Perform other duties as required. Job Requirements: + A high school diploma or equivalent. + Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving history. + Minimum 2 years customer service or related experience involving direct interaction with the general public. + Must successfully complete departmental training program to fulfill expectations of job within 6 months of employment.
