The Parking Services Officer is responsible for providing parking services, public relations services, and enforcement of parking regulations throughout campus. This position carries out routine patrols and uses rational judgment to approach an appropriate method of enforcement. Acts as an ambassador for the university, providing directions, explaining parking regulations to visitors and members of the community, and assisting individuals in complying with the traffic and parking regulations.
The position is located in Stephenville, Texas with normal working hours of Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or as work requirements indicate. Work hours may vary during peak season and may be subject to after hours, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
Responsibilities:
Enforces parking regulations by giving warnings and issuing parking citations including checking for overtime or illegal/restricted parking.
Uses hand-held electronic ticket writing devices or hand-writes citations.
Provides information to employees, students, and visitors regarding campus parking regulations and directions.
Installs and removes parking immobilization devices on vehicles that have excessive parking violations.
Keeps accurate and detailed records.
May coordinate the towing or relocation of vehicles on campus.
May train and supervise student workers in the field.
May assist with special events parking and arrangements.
Represents Campus Operations, as a valued member of TSU and the A&M System and performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to communicate and work effectively to foster a teamwork atmosphere.
Good listening, verbal and written communication, judgment, decision-making, and time management skills.
Effective customer service skills.
Ability to observe, assess, and record hazardous conditions in parking areas/structures.
Ability to resolve difficult or stressful customer service issues.

The target base base hourly compensation is $19.23 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
