No County Ontario Street Address Ganondagan State Historic Site 7000 County Rd 41 City Victor State NY Zip Code 14564 Duties Description The position will assist the historic site interpreter who works directly with the public to help them understand the history of the Seneca who lived at Ganondagan as well as the greater Haudenosaunee people. There will be a period of instruction initially, to understand the story of Ganondagan and the Seneca people. Primary duties will include but not be limited to:• Assist the interpreter in the implantation and execution of programs and activities.• Respond to public inquiries and provide clear and effective communication with both staff and park visitors.• Manage ticket sales at the front desk.• Load and unload materials and equipment to and from the Longhouse.• Assist with outdoor event setups, ensuring proper arrangement of materials and equipment for public programs and events.• Perform trail maintenance duties, including clearing debris, repairing paths, and ensuring the trails are safe and accessible.• Snow shoveling and salting walkways to ensure public safety during the winter months.• Answer phones and direct calls as necessary. • Assist in managing and posting content on social media accounts.• Perform light cleaning duties to ensure a clean and welcoming environment.• Promote and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety practices and protocols.
