Position Summary
The Lincoln County Parks department is gearing up for the warmer season and is looking to add a Parks Host Coordinator position. The person in this role will recruit, train, schedule, and supervise park hosts across all park locations to ensure that park hosts provide exceptional customer service, maintain park facilities, and contribute to a welcoming and safe environment for visitors.
This position is also responsible for acting as the main point of contact for all park hosts, addressing any issues or concerns, and ensuring consistent communication between park management and hosts.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
JOB FUNCTIONS
Recruitment & Hiring (in collaboration with Parks Supervisor):
+ Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified Park Hosts.
+ Conduct interviews and assist in the hiring process.
+ Ensure all new park hosts complete required onboarding and training.
Training & Development:
+ Develop and coordinate training programs for new and existing Park Hosts, focusing on customer service, park policies, safety procedures, and maintenance tasks.
+ Provide ongoing support for Park Hosts.
Scheduling & Coordination:
+ Create and manage schedules for park hosts, ensuring adequate coverage across all park locations.
+ Adjust schedules based on seasonal needs, special events, and other factors.
Supervision & Support:
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for Park Hosts, addressing any concerns, providing guidance, and resolving conflicts.
+ Foster a positive and collaborative environment among Park Hosts and between Hosts and park visitors.
+ Conduct regular check-ins with Park Hosts to ensure job satisfaction and performance.
+ Ensure Park Hosts adhere to all park policies, safety regulations, and customer service standards.
+ Maintain accurate records of Park Host hours, performance evaluations, and any incidents or issues.
Community Engagement / Volunteer Coordination:
+ Assist in organizing events that involve Park Hosts and promote community engagement.
+ Schedule and manage one-time volunteers for park clean-ups, plantings, and other special events.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum Education Level
Associates and/or Professional Certification
Specifics: Fields related to parks, natural resource management, hospitality management, or public administration.
Minimum Experience Level
Two- Three years
Specifics: Relevant experience in managing a small team.

Driver’s License
Oregon Driver's License required within 30 days if hire.
Desirable Qualifications:
Previous experience in volunteer coordination, customer service, or park management is preferred.
Knowledge of:
+ Techniques for managing and resolving conflicts, particularly in dealing with staff who may be reluctant to perform assigned tasks or follow park protocols.
+ Motivational strategies to engage and encourage park hosts to fulfill their responsibilities effectively, even when they are resistant to doing the work.
+ Performance management practices, including addressing underperformance, providing constructive feedback, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
+ Basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
+ Parks, nature, and outdoor recreation.
