Job Description
We are seeking flexible, part-time talent with certifications and specifications experience, ideally in human and/or pet food consumer packaged goods. The hours will range from 16-25 hours per week during first shift business hours (7 am - 5 pm CST), Monday through Friday. These hours may be flexible from week to week and will not exceed 1300 hours annually. This position tends to be a hybrid, flexible work environment from home and on-site.
ResponsibilitiesSupport the team of Certifications Specialists to develop, maintain, and ensure third-party compliance of product certification information, including Kosher, Halal, Organic, Non-GMO Project, Fair Trade, RSPO, and Paleo.Gather raw material information from internal and external resources to maintain paperwork for regulatory, third-party, and internal labeling substantiation requirements.Work closely with Labeling & Regulatory Compliance team members to support project and business work.Assist with the creation of ingredient specifications in compliance with internal policies and FSMA requirements.Manage the creation of specifications and communicate changes to internal customers and vendors.Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Ingredient Specifications, Finished Product Specifications, R&D, Sourcing, Labeling, etc.) to ensure all necessary documentation and information is collected to comply with food safety, regulatory, and labeling requirements.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Labeling, or a related field.Basic understanding of the product commercialization process from product design to manufacturing.+3 months of industry experience in Food Quality or Specifications work.Experience writing technical specifications.Good interpersonal and communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the food industry or related field.Experience in Interspec or a similar Product Lifecycle Management system.Work Environment
This is a 1300-hour track position. We are seeking flexible, part-time talent with certifications and specifications experience, ideally in human and/or pet food consumer packaged goods. Hours will range from 16-25 hours per week during first shift business hours (7 am - 5 pm CST), Monday through Friday. These hours may be flexible from week to week and will not exceed 1300 hours annually. The position is intended to be open-ended, so there is no true end date. Contracts will be extended as long as success in assignments is achieved. Local to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area preferred. Personal or agency-provided technology and a VDI will be used for this assignment (please no Macs).
