Responsibilities Advise students in selecting and determining their academic goalsHelp to link a plan of study with students' career goalsInform students about college requirements including majors, minors, and concentrationsCounsel students in choosing their programs semester-by-semester in an orderly and sequential fashionAssist students in registering for courses and making program changes when necessaryConsult with academic department chairmen and staff on programming and scheduling mattersInform students about graduation requirements and filing the appropriate formsMonitor students who are on academic probationEvaluate and maintain an organized system of students recordsProcess graduation applicationsCounsel and guide students with graduate and professional school admissions proceduresPrepare and submit appeals to the Committee on Academic StandingWork with potential students to inform them about the college and help them to decide if Touro is the appropriate college for them and which Touro program can best serve their needsAssist in orientation of entering students and helping students to adjust to college lifeServe as student case manager for college and community and social servicesCounsel students with personal, family, and academic problems and provide support during stressful transitionsAssist students in seeking help in their everyday livesInform students about available services at Touro College and make referrals to other offices within the collegeAdvocate for students' rights within the college environmentRefer students to appropriate agencies for helpOther duties as determined by the Deans and Directors Qualifications DegreesBachelor of Arts requiredMaster's Degree preferred
