The Utah State University Eastern Athletic Department is seeking a part-time Certified Assistant Athletic Trainer. This position will be responsible for maintaining and operating an in-house athletic training program and providing athletic training needs to all athletic teams. Utah State University Eastern is home to many NJCAA Division I varsity sport teams including: Women’s Volleyball, Men and Women’s Soccer, Men and Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Cheer, Dance, E-sports, and Rodeo.
Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will be responsible for assisting with walk-in services and providing coverage and care of athletic practices and games. The candidate will help sustain a comprehensive athletic training program, including the addition of student athletic trainers and potential interns. The duties of the Assistant Athletic Trainer include prevention of athletic injuries, recognition, evaluation, and immediate care of athletic injuries, rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries, and health care administration duties. The Assistant Athletic Trainer serves as a liaison between physicians, coaches, and athletes. They ensure that student athletes participate only when physically able and that any physician instructions are understood and followed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from accredited CAATE certified athletic training programBOC certification.Basic Life Support for healthcare providers.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrate effectiveness with interpersonal relationships.Licensed or ability to be licensed in the state of Utah
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree from accredited CAATE certified athletic training programOne or more years of experience with NJCAA, or similar experience and years at other college programs

Advertised Salary $30 to $40.00 per hour; Commensurate with experience and education ADAThe position requires considerable physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting (50 pounds) and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects. Employees must be prepared to assume uncomfortable positions such as crawling, kneeling, and squatting. Additionally, the work environment can include confined or narrow spaces. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment.
