Summary of Responsibilities: The bartenders' primary responsibility is to welcome guests, take orders, and prepare and serve food and beverage items to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner following quality standards. The bartender must maintain supplies and follow hotel cleanliness and sanitation guidelines. Primary Responsibilities and Objectives: · Greet, welcome, and interact with guests in a warm and friendly manner · Take orders, prepare drinks according to recipes, and serve all food and beverage requests in the bar · Demonstrate complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu · Prepare the bar for service by ensuring bar supplies, garnishes, and utensils are properly set up per quality standards · Inventory unused liquor and beverages. Ensure that all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at the close of the shift · Adhere to all cash handling and credit card policies and procedures. Ensure that all drink orders from servers are accurately rung into the P.O.S. System · Clean and reset bar top and tables immediately after guest department · Complete all closing duties and reports as assigned · Secure all liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas · Adhere to the established safety and sanitation guidelines · Adhere to uniform and grooming standards · Perform other duties as assigned Education and Experience: · High school diploma or GED is preferred · Experience as a bartender required, preferably in a high-volume bar · Experience with computerized cash registers preferred Skills and requirements: · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Ability to diffuse conflict within the bar · Developed problem-solving skills required · Organization skills required · Advertise the daily, weekly, and monthly promotions of the bar · Ability to professionally and efficiently handle customer complaints · Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment Scheduling: · Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside of business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays · May be required to be on-call and aid during staffing deficiencies on-site Environment: · Exposure to an environment typically found in a hotel or restaurant · Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions Physical Requirements: Avenue5 will make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
