Position OverviewAs a Professional Driver with C&S Wholesale Grocers, you will start your driving career with the company by working with a Professional Driver Trainer (PDT) who will provide coaching and insight on the C&S Way which includes company and regulatory requirements. Once you have successfully completed our new hire training program, you will maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through deliveries of product and services while performing all other assigned duties. All functions must be completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

You Will Contribute By:

Drive a tractor-trailer (semi-truck/eighteen-wheeler) combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver productsMake an average of 6-8 stops per day; pallets can consist of all types of productsManeuver the truck into the loading or unloading positionWeigh truck as needed en route and/or at vendors to document weight and conform to state/company regulationsElectronic logging according to I.C.C. regulationsInspect the truck before and after trips and submit a report indicating the truck's conditionRead the bill of lading to determine the assignmentFor specific customers, Drivers will be required to count cases as well as pallet verification upon deliveryAbility to maneuver truck into loading or unloading position in tight urban areas. Ability to operate trailer lift gate in a safe manner (company will train and certify as needed) for curbside deliveriesIn accordance with I.C.C. regulations, effective use of electronic logging equipment (People Net), conduct Pre-trip and Post-Trip vehicle inspections for equipment condition reportingPosition is union representedTravel Required: Yes
