Job Overview:
The Part-Time Community Safety Officer is responsible for serving all owners, residents and employees in a courteous, professional manner and protecting the community's assets. Provide access to community for residents and visitors and operate numerous applications, databases, and camera systems.
Schedule:
29 hours per week Monday, Wednesday, Friday 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Your Responsibilities:
Demonstrates excellent customer service, communication and time management skills Monitors and operates electronic security control systems and emergency response systems Responds to emergency situations in a timely manner Monitors and controls access to associations maintenance facility, amenities areas and dumpster area Maintains a safe and secure environment throughout the community Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment Work shifts are subject to change based on property needs Needs to read and understand The FirstService Employee Handbook/Security Standard Operating Procedures Assists Community Manager with Covenant Enforcement Monitors and operates a security cell phone Monitors and operates security camera system
Additional Responsibilities:
Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards. Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct. Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules. All employees are required to check in with the community manager during the issuance of a Tropical Storm or Hurricane Watch or Warning While on duty or on the property, all employees must be in full uniform and maintain appearance of dress (this includes identification badges being displayed at all times) Be courteous and respectful of their fellow employees, residents and guests. Contact the community manager if they will be tardy or absent Maintain their assigned areas in a neat and safe manner Safety procedures must be maintained and adhered to. Any safety issues must be brought to the attention of the community manager immediately. The security cell phone can be utilized for this. Assist in receiving department as needed in keeping deliveries, moved, construction workers orderly and following regulations Assist unit owners in a helpful manner and referring all questions that cannot be answered to the community manager. Assist with placing towing stickers on vehicles parking in common areas and calling the towing company if the vehicle is not removed in the time frame listed in the community rules and regulations Report to the community manager any problems as soon as possible, recording all irregularities on an Incident Report. May be assigned to other duties by the on-site community association manager.
Skills & Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age Must possess high school diploma or equivalent Prior law enforcement or security experience preferred Ability to understand local, state and federal statutes and apply as needed Certified or able to certify in AED, CPR and First Aid preferred Demonstrated customer services and computer skills Exhibit good written and verbal communication skills and ability to write detailed reports Ability to lift 30-50 lbs Work in an upright, standing or sitting position for long periods of times Must be able to drive security vehicle, keep track of gas receipts, credit cards and issue violation tickets Reach with hands and arms Communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information by means of spoken and written word Ability to quickly and easily navigate the community as required to meet job functions Ability to work extended hours and weekends based on communities requirements Ability to respond to emergencies and callouts in a timely manner
Compensation:
$16 per hour
