Executive Protection Department is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of high-profile individuals within the organization, including executives, Board members, and other key personnel.  Through a combination of intelligence-driven risk assessments, threat monitoring, and strategic security measures, the team ensures a proactive and adaptive approach to executive safety. Focused on discretion and rapid response, the Executive Protection Department plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s leadership and maintaining business continuity.

 

Position Summary

 

The Executive Protection Officer is a highly trained professional responsible for the safeguarding of the Chief Executive Officer and other Senior Officers by conducting threat assessments, planning secure routes, providing close physical protection and responding to potential security threats.  The actions of keeping the CEO and other coworkers safe from harm are performed while maintaining a discreet presence to minimize disruption to the CEO. 

 

This is a part-time hourly paid position, working a minimum of 24 hours per week based on business needs. Work hours may vary, and some overnight travel may be required. The role will require frequent travel within the PG&E service territory and 25% travel within the continental US and internationally. Your assigned headquarter location will in Oakland, CA.

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​ This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. 

 

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $50.48 to $81.25.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Perform executive protection functions, including executive driving, security advances, executive safety/security, proactive intelligence collection on site/office security, and residential security/safety evaluations. Coordination of activities with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, and maintaining active communications with executive staff and other business units. Conduct threat investigations that involve the executive protection program and related responsibilities. Maintain expertise and skill levels in the executive protection program including driving, personal protection, defensive tactics, combat shooting, first aid/CPR, site security evaluations and state of the art security technology. Remain available for executive protection 24/7, including immediate response to the security/safety needs of the executive and his or her family members. Participate in the planning and coordination of travel (business or pleasure) involving the executive and his or her family members to provide security/safety recommendations and related security mitigations. Travel outside the San Francisco Bay Area and State of CA at least 25% of the time. Build and maintain strong relationships with law enforcement agencies at the local, state and federal level. Complete related staff assignments, research projects, presentations, and security vulnerability assessments and plans. Assist in the planning of major events involving the executives from a security perspective. Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Protection leadership.

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

 

High school diploma or GED 5 years of prior law enforcement or private security experience conducting executive protection and event security Current CA Guard Card or the ability to obtain one within 180-days of employment. Valid California driver’s license Valid U.S. Passport In possession of a Concealed Weapons Permit or has the authority to carry a concealed weapon in accordance with HR 218 Ability to work a minimum of 24-hours per week to include weekends Must be able to qualify for NERC/CIP clearance

 

Desired:

 

BA/BS degree in Criminology, Police Science, Criminal Justice Administration Executive protection experience from law enforcement or the military Executive Protection Accreditation from a local, state or national school
