Objective Perform part-time instruction within the architecture program of the Blinn College District. Essential Duties Teach architecture classes as assigned by the Dean, Assistant Dean or Department Head. Provide instruction for courses at various times and locations Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence. Maintain regular office hours, with access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication. Prepare and utilize course syllabi and assess each course using guidelines established by the Blinn College District. Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies, delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources. Advise students in academic matters. Evaluate students’ performance and keep students informed in a timely manner. Assist in the development, distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program learning outcomes. Provide recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Heads, and Curriculum Resource Team regarding the curriculum. Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community. Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments. Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities. Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and orally. Attend college orientation and required institutional meetings. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in architecture related coursework.

Must be able to pass required background checks for the Blinn College District and/or finger printing for any external facilities, per their requirements. Preferred Experience and Training College level experience teaching introduction to architecture, architectural history, and/or architecture studio courses in a face-to-face and blended modality.
Online teaching experience desirable.
