Objective Teach dual credit courses for Waller ISD (Waller High School). Must be currently employed by Waller High School. Essential Duties • Provide instruction for dual credit courses in graphic design at Waller High School.
• Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence.
• Maintain access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication.
• Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution.
• Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilizes a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources.
• Advise students in academic matters.
• Evaluate students’ performance through a variety of means to measure progress and keep them informed in a timely manner.
• Assist in the development, distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives.
• Provide recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Heads, Curriculum Resource Team and Advisory Committees regarding curriculum.
• Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community.
• Submit, in a timely manner, college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments.
• Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities.
• Possess a passion for teaching dual credit/community college students.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and orally.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be currently employed by Waller High School.

Associates degree or higher in Art, Commercial Art, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Instructional Media, Visual Communication, Game Art, 2D/3D digital media or closely related field and 3 years non-teaching work experience in the field OR Bachelor’s degree or higher in Art, Commercial Art, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Instructional Media, Visual
Communication, or closely related field.

Required at interview: art & professional work portfolio in Graphic Design or similar applied arts and a brief simulated course lecture of ~7 minutes.

Preferred Experience and Training 1. Must be currently employed by Waller High School.
2. Three or more years of work experience in digital art creation either in commercial art or entertainment industries.
2. College level teaching experience desirable.
3. Experience with teaching online courses.
4. Strong visual art studio background at the undergraduate level.
5. Knowledge of on-line instructional design.
6.Sample of professional work desirable – portfolio or demo reel.
