Part-Time Imaging Technologist
**Multiple Shifts Available* Job Summary Utilizes imaging equipment (X-Ray, MRI) to conduct radiological diagnostic procedures as needed for evaluating patient conditions. Creates and maintains records and files as directed. Duties and Responsibilities + Operates computer and radiographic equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body, under the supervision of a Radiologist. Performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuing optimal quality images. + Prepares patient for radiographic procedures by accurately assessing patients needs and providing patient education. + Records appropriate chart notations in Patient Information System and/or Patient files. Prepares and maintains records and files as directed. Stores and maintains films according to department policy and procedures. + Prepares patient films for interpretation by radiologist. + Practices safety measures in radiography and Environment of Care. Maintains and tests equipment to ensure proper functionality. + Assist Physicians with Orthopedic casting procedures to include the application and removal of a variety of casts and splints. Prepare and position patient for casting procedures. Instruct patients in cast ware, wound care, swelling, and how to remove and apply splints. + Perform routine examinations and treatment procedures to include removing casts, cleaning wounds and applying medications and dressings. + Cross train in clinical areas to support patients and providers. Room patients, update patient charts, take vitals and patient history. + Maintains patient confidentiality. + Handles other duties as required. Qualifications Requirements and Qualifications + AAS Radiologic Technology. + Current ARRT Certification and NYS License. + Minimum of two years of Radiologic Technologist experience. + Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills while performing any and all tasks associated with the position. Physical Demands + Frequent sitting, standing, walking, grasping, carrying, and speaking. + Occasional reaching, bending, and stooping. + Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds--with assistance if needed. + May need to lift or turn patients who are disabled--with assistance if needed. + Frequent use of computer, keyboard, copy and fax machine, and phone.
