Objective Perform part-time operations of the instructional program at a school district. Essential Duties 1. Provide instruction in credit welding courses following NCCER curriculum
2. Track and document student mastery of NCCER competencies
3. Submit NCCER documentation to college program staff for submission o NCCER database
4. Model lab safety protocols for students at all times
5. Require all students to follow lab safety protocols at all times
6. Once a year attend professional development for dual credit welding instruction, as provided by the college
7. Maintain office hours as set by the College and the supporting school distract.
8. Prepare course syllabus, which includes stated objectives for the course.
9. Stay current on developments regarding instructional methodology particularly supplemental, blended or on-line instruction and related instructional theories.
10. Assist in making recommendations to the program coordinator regarding curriculum additions, deletions, or revisions.
11. Utilize college’s online Desire2Learn system to provide syllabus, student attendance, and student grades related to the dual credit course in real-time to students and college.
12. Provide a grade evaluation on each student’s performance in a timely fashion and frequency required by the College.
13. Perform other Welding program related tasks, and attend part-time faculty meetings as assigned. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Theoretical and practical knowledge of welding technologies
2. Mastery of STICK, and MIG welding techniques
3. Practical knowledge of industrial workplace safety and mastery of instructional lab safety practices
4. Work with other program instructors and program coordinator to ensure a consistent and high quality learning experience
5. Must be employed by an ISD within the Blinn College service district Preferred Experience and Training Minimum of 3 years working as a welder not associated with education. Physical Requirements Ability to move in small areas to demonstrate and teach welding techniques.
Ability to lift maximum or 50 pounds. Required Degree, License or Certifications 1. Associates Degree in Welding Technologies or Metal Science and three years non-teaching experience in the field
OR
Bachelor’s degree in related field
2. Applicant must be a Certified NCCER Instructor for Welding Technology OR complete certification prior to the school year (offered through the Blinn College NCCER Certified Training Director or other local NCCER accredited training Training Director.
3. Applicant must hold OSHA-10 Hour card OR complete OSHA-10 Hour card prior to the school year Special Notes To Applicants Applicant must be employed by a school district at a High School teaching Welding who has a dual credit agreement with Blinn College.
