Description Caterpillar interns are challenged with real-world projects and assignments that add value to the business and develop professional skills. We’re looking for a passionate, communications–savvy intern to join our communications team! As a part-time Communications Intern at Caterpillar, you will perform challenging work while being exposed to various business functions within the company. We work with our teams to ensure that every intern gains the appropriate professional and personal growth necessary to be successful in the corporate environment. Communications Interns at Caterpillar will assist with internal communications and community relations projects. About the Job: This position is part-time during the school year starting in January 2025. Interns can work up to 32 hours per week. The work director and chosen candidate will agree on specific days and times working out of our Irving, TX, office. Time worked will be primarily during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). The Communication Intern will assist the Global Finance Services and Enterprise Strategy Divisions with internal communications projects, including:Writing and copy-editing articles and newslettersSupporting website strategy and maintenanceNewsletter formatting and distributionMicrosoft Sharepoint site creation and maintenanceCreating eye-catching visual communicationsDeveloping communication plans and strategiesAssisting with special projects as needed, including video, presentations, employee engagement, and moreLocation: Irving, TXSkills Strong written and verbal communication skills, Strong intrapersonal skills Self-starter and self-motivated Works well with a team Interested in the people side of business, helping others to be successful. Basic Qualifications Must be enrolled full-time at a 4-year accredited university/college in one of the following degree programs: Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism, or Marketing.Minimum 2.8/4.0 Cumulative GPA (no rounding) Expected graduation date of December 2025 and beyond 12 completed semester hours at a 4-year university before the start of internship or currently participating in a Caterpillar student program Top Candidates will also have Leadership experience Previous Human Resources or Communications internship or work experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and decision quality - Collaborative team member with strong initiative Excellent customer focus Familiar with company policies and procedures Employee benefit details Besides exciting and challenging work, Interns will experience: Networking with leadership Business skill building Career discussion with leaders and experts And more!Posting Dates:
