We're looking for a dedicated Emergency Department (ED) Monitor (EKG) Tech to join our dynamic team. In this exciting role, you'll be responsible for continuously monitoring patients' heart rhythms, vital signs, and respiratory rates at the Central Monitor Station. You'll play a crucial role in detecting changes like arrhythmias, fluctuations in heart rate, and other vital signs, while quickly alerting RNs when necessary.
You'll also handle tasks like obtaining EKG strips, documenting key intervals, managing patient admissions and discharges from telemetry monitors, and keeping equipment running smoothly. Salary: $25.30 - $33.35 Hourly
Qualifications
We're seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated professional with:
+ EKG certificate or certification, highly preferred
+ Associate degree or diploma, preferred
+ Experience in 5-lead EKG monitoring using Phillips® monitor, preferred
Successful completion of an approved basic arrhythmia program( minimum of 14 hours) - Required/training provided by Department
Ability to establish and maintain a courteous and co-operative working relationship with patients, families and co-workers. Required
Ability to speak clearly and distinctly using English vocabulary and grammar. Required.
Ability to understand oral and written English.
Ability to read and write Standard English text.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations (adds, subtract, multiply and divide).
Demonstrates an understanding of basic terminology and abbreviations.
Ability to accurately complete assigned tasks.
Ability to organize and prioritize work to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Ability to sustain quality of work commensurate with established departmental QA guidelines and governmental regulations. Training Provided
Satisfactory completion of Heart Saver (CPR) course - Preferred.
Ability to provide age appropriate observation and intervention to meet the needs of patients served .
