The School of Data Science is hiring a Multimedia Specialist to plan, create, and produce engaging content in support of the school’s Data Points Podcast, faculty research video spotlights, and instructional design initiatives. In collaboration with the Creative Manager, the Multimedia Specialist will ensure all content aligns with SDS brand guidelines. Additional responsibilities include contributing to the communications content plan, scouting locations, managing inventory and digital assets, and overseeing all post-production tasks. Other duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Assist in the planning and production of the Data Points Podcast.
• Create branded faculty research videos.
• Support instructional design videos.
• Cover special events through content creation, photography, and video production.
• Ensure all digital content is accurate, engaging, and meets deadlines.
• Maintain multimedia inventory and digital assets.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in media arts, digital arts, or related field.
• Minimum three years of related experience.
• Proficiency in design, video production, audio editing, and multimedia presentation.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, produce accurate work, and meet deadlines.
• High level of self-direction and a willingness to learn new software programs.
• Preferred skills: animation sequences, motion graphics, and other rendering techniques.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require walking some distance to
attend meetings, and programs.
This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and in-person with the potential for a hybrid and/or flexible schedule. Occasional evening and
weekend hours may be required.
