The family live in the village of Howden-le-Wear in County Durham, approximately 1 mile south of the large market town of Crook.
The family have 3 children, a boy age 2y, a girl age 10y and boy age 14y. They are looking for someone who is able to care for the needs of the toddler, whilst provide supervision and guidance to the two older children who are quite self sufficient. The 14 year old has some physical challenges that may need a helping hand now and then (such as squirting his toothpaste onto his toothbrush). The parent is a single mother, and is most importantly looking for someone to become an extension of the family, and can be flexible to find the right person.
A driver is NOT essential to the position.
Due to business hours, the family are looking for a Nanny to help with predominately evening and weekend care of the children, with flexibility to offer the Nanny further hours if desired. The ideal days for the parent would be around 5:30pm - midnight Thursday, Friday and Saturday (or Saturday day time) with approximately 19.5/20 hours as a minimum, however the parent is flexible to make this work for the Nanny and could keep days set, or offer different days/ a weekend day off each week/alternating weekends if desired, with opportunity to pick up more hours if desired for some housekeeping or in school holidays.
- Care of the toddler and siblings from around 5:30pm
- Help with dinner, and clearing away in the kitchen
- Supervising evening routines
- Settle the toddler to bed
- Be around for the older children in the evening, reading or doing arts and crafts with the 10 year old, making sure they get to bed at a reasonable time,
- Relaxing when all children are in bed, but being on call for the children until the mother gets home at
- If working during the days, then playing and entertaining at home, local walks or activities, with the toddler or all the children as appropriate
- Some help with additional tasks would be helpful, such as homework or laundry but not essential
To make the role easier with the evening care, the position can be offered with live in accommodation of an ensuite bedroom for the Nanny if desired.
Start: As soon as Nanny is available
Hours: 20 (or more if desired) per week 5:30pm - midnight or weekend dates, plus extra offered
Days: Thurs, Fri, Sat preferred or a mixture of week days and weekends
Pay: £15-16 per hour depending on experience
