Established in 1973 by Dr. Gary Dodd, Dodd Vision is a family-owned business serving the Akron communities with exceptional optometric care. In 2007, the practice transitioned to Dr. Andy Dodd, who takes pride in continuing his father's vision to provide quality, affordable, and trustworthy eye care. The practice focuses on general and medical optometry, specializing in ocular disease diagnosis, treatment and management, pediatric eye care, and specialty contact lenses. To support the practice's continued growth and the construction of a new office, Dr. Dodd is looking to add an Optometrist to the highly-trained staff of six employees.
The professionals at Dodd Vision offer a personalized vision care experience in a comfortable, friendly, and professional environment. Fully suited with top-of-the-line optical equipment, the practice utilizes Optomap Retinal Imaging, Topcon Maestro Optical Coherence Tomography, and additional diagnostic technologies. Patients enjoy a family-friendly experience as they shop a wide selection of fashionable eyewear and designer frames from the optical department. Plus, the practice carries a comprehensive array of contact lenses from daily disposables and extended wear soft lenses to gas permeable.
About the Optometrist Opening
Dodd Vision is seeking a part-time Optometrist passionate about providing personalized and individualized care to ensure excellent eye health and vision care for all patients. You'll provide comprehensive eye examinations, educate patients about their ocular health, and recommend vision-enhancing products—approximately 15 to 20 patients are cared for daily. The position is for 20 to 30 hours weekly, with the potential to transition to full-time. The practice is looking for a well-rounded professional interested in a long-term opportunity and is excited to support the expansion of Dodd Vision to a new location.
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and compassion for patient health and safety. In addition, the ideal candidate will want to develop skills through mentorship with experienced doctors and integrate new techniques and innovations that improve patient care and services.
