Homelessness Prevention Initiative (HomeBase) is a CAMBA program that provides case management and essential services to at-risk individuals and families in Brooklyn and Staten Island to prevent homelessness. Individuals and families receive services that help them overcome problems with public benefits, housing, education, health care and other issues that could impede their ability to maintain stable households.
Position: Quality Assurance Specialist
Reports to: Program Manager
Locations: 120 Stuyvesant Place, Suite 413, Staten Island, NY 10301 and 209 Bay Street, Staten Island, NY 10301
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The person filling this position is expected, under close supervision, to: (1) Review program files for compliance with programmatic standards; (2) compare files against program standards to verify completeness and accuracy; (3) prepare documentation reports for management use; including the following:
+ Keep track of received data and source documents.
+ Prepare and sort documents and files.
+ Review client files to ensure quality of data and completeness according to funder and CAMBA requirements.
+ Flag files for follow-up to alert management staff of areas of files that require immediate attention for compliance.
+ Contact preparers of documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
+ Enter data from documents into electronic file system and databases.
+ Compare data entered with source documents to detect errors, and correct input if necessary.
+ Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data entered.
+ Close cases as per HB procedure.
+ Prepare managerial and funder reports based on previously approved report templates.
+ Design new report templates to satisfy new or changing management/funder needs.
+ Tasks may be modified, expanded and or assigned over a period of time.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
+ High school diploma or G.E.D. and one year of applicable experience and/or equivalent experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
+ Knowledge of, and commitment to, issues surrounding housing and homelessness.
+ A high degree of professionalism and understanding of confidentiality.
+ Proven excellence in attention to detail as well as written and verbal communication.
+ Proficient experience using Microsoft Office software and knowledge of databases.
+ Interest and ability to adapt to changing demands and learn on the job, while consistently maintaining high standards.
+ Knowledge of, and experience with, New York City Housing and Public Assistance Systems.
Compensation : $25
Status: Part-time (25hours per week) - 9:30am-3:30pm
When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.
