JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics seeks to hire a n under graduate student or recent graduate to work part-time as a Research A ssi stant . The selected candidate will be a highly motivated Research Assistant to investigate Active Galactic Nuclei variability. The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge research in reverberation mapping, analyzing time-series data to characterize the broad-line region and constrain black hole masses. The candidate will also investigate the relationship between continuum and spectral changes over time , including analyzing large datasets from various telescopes, developing data reduction pipelines, calibrate and reduce observational data, and conducting statistical analyses. The ideal candidate will stay abreast of the latest research in AGN variability and reverberation mapping, publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, collaborate with researchers within and beyond our group, and present research findings at conferences and workshops.
