Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Tax Preparer in Waldoboro, Maine. This role is in the financial services industry and involves using accounting software systems such as Drake and CCH ProSystem. As a Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for preparing and filing taxes using various software and resolving any tax-related inquiries. Responsibilities • Utilize Drake Tax Software and CCH Sales Tax systems for preparing client tax filings. • Ensure accurate data entry and maintain proper records of all tax-related transactions. • Address and resolve client inquiries related to tax preparation and deductions. • Stay updated with the latest tax laws and regulations to provide accurate information to clients. • Monitor client accounts and ensure timely action is taken for all tax-related matters. Requirements • Proficiency in using CCH Sales Tax software • Experience in using Drake Tax Software • Strong data entry skills • Familiarity with deductible calculations • Certified Tax Preparer or relevant qualification • Solid understanding of tax codes, regulations, and procedures • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills • Ability to manage multiple clients and meet tight deadlines • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel • Strong communication and customer service skills • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred • Part-time availability during tax season • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy • Willingness to stay updated on new tax laws and regulations • Ability to maintain confidentiality of client information.
