Part Time Teacher's Assistant
The Opportunity
The Teacher Assistant will support the program services by assisting the Coordinator in creating and maintaining a safe educational environment for the clients and children.
Responsibilities
+ Provide a balance between child-initiated activities and teacher-initiated activities.
+ Implement activities that develop self-esteem, and social skills, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling and field trips.
+ Plan and implement culturally diverse experiences.
+ Communicates with children at their developmental level.
+ Assesses supplies and materials on an ongoing basis. Helps maintain a clean and safe environment.
+ Records daily attendance
+ Post information on services and events to the parents.
+ Identify children showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health related problems, and discuss them with supervisor, parents or guardians.
+ Plan summer activities for summer program.
+ Work remotely and use technology to teach preschool age children.
+ Attend staff meetings
+ Assumes other tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the operations of the program.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum 2-3 years' experience working with preschool age children in a structured environment.
Must have the ability to engage a diverse population of clients, both children and adults and convey concerns and understanding
Ability to engage and instruct children remotely.

Salary: $19.21/hr
