Part-Time Travel Demand Modeler
This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Travel Demand Modeler** for our **Denver, CO** office. Your Impact + Regional and national opportunities to develop and apply state-of-the-art Travel Demand Models + Work in a supportive team environment with a group of diverse, talented peers + Opportunities to write programs, work with Big Data and create solutions to help transform cities and communities + Engage with public and private planning agencies and transportation providers nationwide Who You Are **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree or higher in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field + 5 years' experience with travel demand model development or similar data science applications + Knowledge of the principles and practices of travel behavior, travel demand modeling and forecasting + Ability to program in Python or R + Experience conducting statistical analyses of travel survey and passively-collected travel data + Ability to analyze and explain model outputs and travel demand forecasts including performance metrics and travel behavior impacts. + Experience automating the process of model result summarization. + Experience building dashboards in R Shiny, Tableau, and/or PowerBI. + Experience performing GIS analysis using ArcGIS, QGIS and/or Leaflet. + Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, with strong writing and presentation skills. + Ability to perform research and work on development or application of modeling features related to emerging transportation technologies, transformative modes, and shared mobilities. + Ability to analyze and problem-solve + Strong organizational skills and documentation techniques **Preferred Qualifications** + Master’s degree is preferred. + Prior experience within the engineering consulting industry is preferred. + Ability to program in Java desirable. Compensation: Expected Salary (Colorado only): $40.00 - $65.68/Per hour WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
