OPS Veterinary Technician Assistant
Job Description:UF Pet Emergency Treatment Services is looking for a part-time veterinary technician assistant to help technicians, client service representatives, and doctors to provide excellent patient care and customer service. UF PETS is an afterhours and weekend emergency clinic. This position will work primarily during weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Assistants are responsible for assisting with client and patient interactions, maintaining hospital cleanliness, as well as maintaining inventory and stock. This includes but is not limited to the following:
• Patient restraint and other animal handling
• Sweeping, mopping, dusting, laundry, organizing and basic clean-up
• Sanitize cages and kennels
• Restocking of supplies
• Answering phone calls
• Admit/discharge clients and process payments
Available Shifts:
Evening shifts and weekend day, evening, and night shifts available. May require working holidays.
$15.00-$17.00
Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:• Prior experience in the veterinary field
• Knowledge of animal handling
• Certified veterinary assistant
