Partial Hospital Behavioral Health Associate
+ DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION + The Partial Hospitalization Program at BMC is a structured outpatient and intensive, group therapy program for individuals with Behavioral Health (BH)/Substance Use Disorder (SUD) illnesses that provides an effective alternative to an acute care admission or to decompensation in the community. Milieu-based treatment is provided by a multidisciplinary BH team. The Partial Hospital Program (PHP) Behavioral Health Associate is responsible for assisting the Partial Hospital clinical team (psychiatrist, BH clinician, RN) with providing direct care to PHP patients through individual, group, family, couples, and milieu therapies. In addition to co-facilitating therapy groups with the BH clinician or RN, the PHP BH Associate will also be responsible for triage and organization of incoming referrals and will serve as primary interface with payers to secure initial authorizations, provide scheduled updates and secure additional days for treatment, when indicated. The PHP BH Associate will collaborate closely with the patient and team in discharge planning and the development of an effective plan for aftercare. + POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.) + Experience: + Minimum 2-years work or volunteer experience in human services or healthcare preferred + Experience in dual diagnosis treatment preferred. + Experience in facilitating groups or co-facilitating groups. + Proven knowledge of community, outpatient behavioral health, and SUD treatment resources. + Education and Training: + Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field required. + License, Certification & Registration: + LADC or CADC preferred. + CHW certification preferred. + Peer Recovery Support Specialist certification preferred. + Other Requirements: + Strong organizational abilities. + Strong interpersonal, communication and team-building skills. + Ability to form rapid engagement and alliance building with referrals and patients. + Ability to maintain and monitor confidentiality of patient records. + Ability to work in an independent and self-directed manner. + Ability to learn new duties and adjust to change.
