Chemours is seeking a(n) Particle Science Intern to join our Technology team! This position will report directly to the leaders of the Particle Characterization Laboratory.  

 

This position will support research and development activities in the Titanium Technologies business and will focus on analytical and/or process development in particle characterization. 

 

Location: Newark, DE 

Hours: Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week OR 

Term: 3-month assignment between May-August 2025 

 

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Prepare slurries, dispersions, and other samples as needed 

Characterizing samples using various particle characterization methods 

Assisting in method optimization and developing best practices for emerging experimental techniques 

Data analysis and method troubleshooting 

Documentation and reporting of results to technical staff 

Working collaboratively in team environment 

Abiding by safe laboratory practices 

 

The following is required for this role: 

Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a Junior or above at time of assignment 

Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field 

Attention to detail and willingness to learn new techniques and methods 

Previous laboratory experience 

Familiarity with Microsoft Office 

 

The following is preferred for this role: 

3.0 GPA or above 

Prior experience with particle characterization techniques 

Understanding of surface science, interfacial phenomena, and/or aerosol science 

Basic understanding of statistical techniques 

Experience with experimental method development
