Monitors all aspects of parts department operations and interfaces with maintenance and accounting to insure proper functions of parts department by performing the following duties. + Comply with the Location’s attendance/tardiness standards. + Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and post totals to inventory records. + Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory. + Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjust errors in computations or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies. + Compiles information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance, price, and cost. + Prepares reports such as inventory balances, price lists and shortages. + Prepares list of depleted items and recommends survey of defective or unusable items. + Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions. + Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items. + Compiles invoices, checks, account statements, reports and other records. + Answers telephone, convey messages, and run errands. + Stocks and issues materials or merchandise. + Responsible for purchasing activities and related documents. + Maintains proper inventory levels to support maintenance operations and outside customer support. + Assists maintenance department with special projects and quotes. + Assists accounting department as requested with receivables and payables. + Deals with vendors and manufactures to obtain the best possible discounts on parts and services. + Works with maintenance customers and outside customers on any problems that may arise concerning parts and service. + Plans layout of inventory room, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored. + Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial action to resolve discrepancies. + Responsible for general appearance of parts room and parts sales office. + Responsible for Inventory Room and Parts Sales Office general appearance.
