The Boeing Global Services (BGS) and the C-17Parts Management Team, located in sunny Long Beach, California, is seeking an Associate or Mid-Level Engineering Technical Specialist.
The Parts Management Engineering Technical Specialist’s role will support parts management activities on the C-17 program. This a unique opportunity to support the C-17 program as a part of a highly engaged team with a broad set of responsibilities including, but not limited to: Parts Obsolescence, Item Unique Identification (IUID), and the Government Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP).
Position Responsibilities:
Updating and maintaining parts databases for parts across the program.Proactively researching parts across program to seek out possible obsolescence issues and support mitigation for any potential obsolescence risks identified.Supporting Item Unique Identification (IUID) implementation activities, including supporting requirements definition for new engineering activities for IUID.Assists with training in the utilization of processes and tools and supports the integration of engineering designs.Assists in performing assessments of compliance and assessing areas of unknown compliance.Assists in the development, maintenance and distribution of engineering documents, reports and correspondence to enable business activity.Collects, analyzes and validates engineering performance metrics and coordinates organizational requirements to support business needs.Works under general supervision.May be asked to support other programs or perform other duties as needed.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree and 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.1+ years of experience in communicating, collaborating, and building consensus with internal and external stakeholders.1+ years of experience with extracting and compiling data from multiple sources.1+ years of experience with maintaining large databases.1+ years working with suppliers or vendors.Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
6+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education.Experience with organizational and team building skills performed in a cross-functional environment.Experience with computer programming and large database management.Experience with GIDEP.Experience with IUID.Experience with parts obsolescence management and mitigation.Experience working on military contract required deliverables.Experience with project management or project engineering.Strong organizational skills.Experience in a role that requires strong analytical skills.Drug Free Workplace:

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Associate-Level Summary pay range: $76,500 - $103,500
Mid-Level Summary pay range: $90,100 - $121,900
Export Control Requirements: This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
