Summary of Job Description

The position, Parts Department Planner 2, is responsible for the organization and control of the flow of materials through the manufacturing process, determining the root cause for shortages, and reconciling inventory. This position is also responsible for expediting shortages and creating, updating, and maintaining shop paper.  Maintaining data within the JD Edwards system and scheduling operations within the facility is also required in this position.
 

Essential Functions

Monitor floor for shortagesExpedite shortages through purchasing, weld, and fabricationCorrect Bill of Materials (BOM) through the BOM query systemExercise skills in location managementGather components and parts needed for different stages of assembly (kitting)Process and reconcile inventoryPossess the ability to read work orders/dispatch reports and follow oral instructionDetermine root cause for shortagesAssemble shop paper including build book & work order batchingResponsible for Change Order (PCO) distributionFollow up on any issuesRaise potential issues to the appropriate level for dispositionCreate and process shop ordersDetermine the root cause and corrective action for daily obstacles  Possess a working knowledge of KanbanPerform data maintenancePerform cycle countsMaintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsDemonstrate effective interpersonal communication skillsRegular attendance requiredAll other duties and responsibilities that are assigned
 

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent education or one year of materials processing experience

Preferred Qualifications to complete Essential Functions

Ability to work well under pressureWorking knowledge of bill of materialsBasic Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) knowledgeAbility to multi-task, self-motivate, and solve problems in a timely mannerPossess strong organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Word and ExcelExcellent written and verbal communication skills

Work Environment

Working conditions will be inside and outside where temperatures will vary from extreme heat to extreme cold for extended periods of time. This position is regularly exposed to vibration and loud noises.
