The Pastry Lead for Roastery & Reserve Kitchens will have the exciting opportunity to spend early mornings ensuring high-quality products leave our kitchens for our Roastery & Reserve locations. This leader will work alongside their chef manager to ensure consistency in quality standards and work to create an industry-leading kitchen environment and culture for our Starbucks partners.  

The candidate for this role must have an unwavering focus on food production and quality. They will work alongside our chef manager to lead a team of partners, assisting with the preparation of pastries and baked goods, providing coaching and recognition throughout each shift.  This candidate will support inventory management, training, labor management, and equipment maintenance as needed within the kitchen.  
 
Qualifications 

As the Pastry Lead for Roastery & Reserve Kitchens, you’ll be able to apply your past culinary leadership experience to:  

Food Production Leadership 

Supervise and produce high-quality bakery and pastry items including cakes, tarts, tiramisu, assorted fillings and custards per established recipes, portions and quality standards   Supports the receipt of ingredients and other supplies from main kitchen and/or pantry as required for daily operations  Works closely with other kitchen leaders and staff to ensure effective production of items   Provide coaching and recognition to partners while they craft high-quality food offerings for our Roastery & Reserve retail locations  

 Planning & Prioritizing  

Reviews production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake and to assemble supplies and equipment needed for daily baking activities  Consults on production sheets and other records as required 

 Coaching Performance & Development  

May support hiring activities and supervision of baking team in partnership with the kitchen leadership team   Supports the development of partners through meaningful coaching conversations informed by observed performance  

 Culture & Effective Communication   

Set inspirational tone for partners by role modeling Starbucks Mission and Values along with the Reserve vision

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.  For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
