Job Title: Pathology Assistant (ASCP Certified Required)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pathology Assistant (ASCP Certified Required) to join our hospital laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical proficiency and the ability to perform grossing procedures immediately upon hire. This role requires excellent teamwork, the ability to work independently, and the flexibility to pivot easily within a dynamic lab setting.

ResponsibilitiesPerform gross examination and preparation of tissue specimens for histological processing with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.Assist pathologists in the microscopic examination of specimens to identify abnormalities and support diagnosis.Receive and prepare tissue and fluid specimens for examination, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.Maintain detailed and accurate records of specimen processing, examination results, and diagnoses.Adhere to laboratory protocols and quality control standards to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.Work closely with pathologists, cytotechnologists, and other laboratory staff to ensure seamless workflow and accurate diagnoses.Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.Pivot easily between tasks and adapt to changing priorities within the laboratory environment.Essential SkillsStrong attention to detail and technical proficiency in grossing procedures.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree preferred.Certification as a Pathology Assistant preferred.Prior experience in grossing and working in a pathology or histology laboratory is highly desirable.ASCP Certification is requiredExperience in oncology and hematology is an advantage.Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory analysis.Work Environment

Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:30pm

This position is based in a brand new, state-of-the-art laboratory equipped with the latest technology and software to ensure work efficiency and accuracy. The lab is very clean, buzzing with activity, and offers a great working atmosphere. The team is tight-knit with a large support system and kind, organized leadership. The facility is rapidly expanding, providing ample opportunities for growth and collaboration.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $47.00
