Location: Ray & Joan Kroc Community Center, 650 Dudley Street, Dorchester
Pay Range: $23 - $28 per hour depending upon experience and qualifications
Hours: 35 per week, Hybrid
This position services the Boston Metropolitan Service Area.
The POH Initiative entails case management over a period of 6-18 months of households with children who have a desire to change their trajectory of being in poverty. The focus of case management is to enable the families to resolve barriers to and work towards self-sufficiency which mainly includes their education and employment needs.
Case Management
Provide services to the client family via the case management stepsMaintain a case record accurately and timely in Service Point database systemTrack statistics and contingency fund usesCollaborate with the Divisional POH regional Coordinator and fellow POH case managers
Clerical
Answer phone calls in a courteous manner and properly route all phone calls and taking messages when appropriateVerify appointments of visitors and admit only authorized persons, intentionally monitoring foot traffic and guide individuals to proper locations within the building.Maintain files of general Corps business and keep reception are in good order, printing, typing, copying, filing, stamping, and oversight of office supply inventory and processing orders as requested.Sort and route all incoming mail and process all outgoing mail. Including acting as signatory for deliveries and make sure receiving individual is notified.Refer persons with spiritual needs to The Salvation Army officer
QUALIFICATIONS
Familiar with principles of case managementStrong organizational & time management skillsStrong interpersonal skills & discretion in working with a diverse population.Experience with Microsoft Office – Word, ExcelExperience with Camp Minder (training provided by TSA)Requires a high level of initiative and the ability to work independently.Practice high level of confidentiality, discretion, and judgmentKnowledge of community helpful
Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
