The Inova Kellar Center in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Full-Time, Monday – Friday, Patient Access Associate 2 to join our dynamic team.  The Kellar Center provides behavioral health services to children, adolescents and their families.  Our comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder treatment programs and an innovative special education school support families throughout Northern Virginia.  As a Patient Access Associate 2, you will be the first point of contact for our patients in meeting their needs.  You will schedule patient appointments, conduct insurance verifications, provide administrative support to our practice and support our mission and vision through professionalism, commitment, and accountability.

Job Responsibilities

Reports safety hazards/violations and takes appropriate action to protect the environment and guests until help arrives – if necessary.  Accepts and provides direct/honest feedback between team members in a non-punishing manner. Explains insurance benefits and patient liability through the use of appropriate communication methods/styles.  Supports scheduling activities by conducting pre-service activities such as insurance verification/submission.  Gathers information about customer complaints in a courteous and professional manner.  Troubleshoots individual admission issues in collaboration with other departments/staff.  Identifies and communicates payroll authorization and referral requirements.  Delivers an acceptable volume of work with high levels of accuracy

Minimum Requirements 

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 

2 years of healthcare patient access experience, or 2 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle.

Skills:

Proven proficiency in multiple Patient Access functions. 

Advanced communication and computer skills.
