Patient Access Associate - Overnight Part Time Per Diem - Emergency Department

Job: Patient Access Associate Hours: 11pm-7am - Part Time Per Diem Location: Penn Medicine Princeton Health Department: Emergency Department Summary: + The Patient Access Associate is responsible for registering patients into the computer system + The Patient Access Associate will collect, verify and enter patient's required demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement . They will collect and process any co-pays or time of service payments + The Patient Access Associate will provide excellent customer service which sets the tone to ensure positive patients outcomes and care Day-to-Day Responsibilities: + Greeting patients with a positive and professional attitude and initiating the registration process + Properly entering the required fields within the ADT system to ensure patient safety and creates visits appropriately in the ADT system + Performs follow up on assigned third party accounts for all in-house admissions and select outpatients (e.g. PAT, Radiation and Oncology) + Follow ups include completing tasks that such as verifying eligibility, obtaining benefits, ensuring pre-certification and/or authorization/referral requirements have been completed + Demonstratining flexibility and adaptability to fast-paced, changing work environments + Demonstrating and appropriately documenting out of pocket responsibility for services as related to insurance contracts or PCHS Fee Schedules + Collecting time of service and point of service payments according to policy. Referring patients to Financial Counselor for assistance when necessary + When Patient Access Associates are assigned to bedside registration (ED and Surgical Areas), they are required to utilize the Workstation on Wheels (WOW) Qualifications: + Required: H.S.
