Baptist Health is looking for a Patient Access Coordinator to join their team in Paducah, KY.

Shift: 2nd Shift

full time with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

Exhibits expert communication skills, telephone etiquette and customer service alwaysPre-registers patients. Demonstrates ability to have meaningful discussion of benefits with patient when pre-registering, and when present in the departmentDemonstrates clinical knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology and medical terminology to determine the appropriate test to be scheduledSchedules patients in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.  Gathers accurate and complete information of tests and diagnosis to enhance the revenue cycleRescheduling/cancelling appointmentsVerification of insurance eligibility and benefit informationMedicare CompliancePrepares Patient Estimates (Patient Portion Due)Obtains insurance precertification/authorization/referral information and understands requirements Obtains insurance precertification directly from the payor where applicableMaintain scheduling system changes and updatesOrder Management

Education, Training, and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalentStrong computer skillsStrong research and problem-solving abilitiesPrior experience in customer service fields, call centers or healthcare preferred but   not   requiredExcellent attendance, punctuality, and ability to meet and maintain established metrics are crucial to being successful in this role
