Patient Access Rep

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Patient Access Rep in Palo Alto, California. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities related to patient admissions and registration, handling customer service inquiries and concerns, and processing required paperwork for billing and compliance needs.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately record payments collected at the point-of-service delivery
• Develop a fundamental understanding of the various health insurance coverage options
• Manage routine patient escalations and perform service recovery when necessary
• Assist with complex registrations by escalating to a more experienced team member
• Greet patients and initiate the registration process
• Maintain detail-oriented communication with various staff, physicians, guests, and patients
• Meet individual productivity and key performance indicators on a weekly basis
• Provide excellent customer service to all individuals you interact with
• Handle a combination of responsibilities for all areas of Patient Access Service operations. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in Customer Service and Communication skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of Procedures and Payment Processing.
• Familiarity with the "About Time" software.
• Knowledge of Medical Coverage policies and Billing procedures.
• Ability to handle Paperwork and Correspondence efficiently.
• Experience in performing Ad Hoc Financial tasks.
• Excellent English Language skills; proficiency in Spanish Language is a plus.
• Proven Leadership Skills and the ability to drive Productivity.
• Experience in KPI Reporting and Compliance Functions.
• Familiarity with HealthCare.gov and the Medicare system.
• Proficiency in using Computer Systems for various tasks.
• Ability to effectively manage Recovery tasks.
• Experience in delivering Training Programs.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Familiarity with Assertion Markup Language.
• Understanding of Insurance Coverage policies.
