Patient Access Rep I - Medical Imaging

This position is responsible for all activities associated with patient registration, reporting and scheduling as it pertains to Diagnostic Services.  

Reports to: Director Diagnostic Services

Follows established protocols concerning scheduling of procedures. Processes patient requisitions in an accurate and expedient manner.Drag Edit DeleteWorks collaboratively with access departments to ensure timely appointment and ease for patients and their families visiting facility.Drag Edit DeleteInsures proper patient charge activities and interpretive report distribution.Drag Edit DeleteInput accurate information to generate requisition from provider order.Drag Edit DeleteAssist in escorting or transporting patients as needed to and from the department.
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent - RequiredDrag Edit DeleteRequired Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Possess Basic Computer/Data Entry SkillsDrag Edit DeleteMinimum Work Experience
Two (2) years patient access experience - Preferred
Appropriate level of other hospital clerical or relevant customer service experience given consideration in lieu of

BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be obtained within 90 days of employment, if not current upon hire.
