Summary: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a full time Patient Access Representative or Patient Access Representative Trainee. The Patient Access Representative assumes responsibility for the effective entry of patients into Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center; coordinates and makes arrangements for all access-related activities including data gathering, triage, communication with referring physicians, scheduling visits and pre-visit diagnostic tests, admitting patients to the hospital, communicating with disease-site teams and provides insurance and financial clearance for new and return visits.

The Patient Access Representative Trainee is a trainee position. Incumbents will be engaged in trainee duties that may lead to the full performance level of a Patient Access Representative.

Salary range for the Patient Access Representative position is $41,399 - $50,884. Salary range for the Patient Access Representative Trainee position is $37, 121 - $45,864 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

The work shift for this position is 3pm -11pm, Monday through Friday with additional weekend and holiday coverage.

Qualifications:Required Education and Experience

1. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in patient registration, patient scheduling, or insurance verification; or
2. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and successful completion of a Patient Access Representative traineeship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park).

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate should have knowledge of medical terminology, previous experience working in an ambulatory or outpatient setting, and updating the patient's demographics/insurance.
