Patient Access Specialist I

Patient Financial Experience

Full-Time

 

A highly visible part time  customer service position that is responsible for obtaining surgical and diagnostic authorizations on behalf of HSS and HSS physicians.  The Patient Access Specialist is an expert in areas of customer service, registration, insurance, and HSS Standards of Care.  The Patient Access Specialist is expected to score in the top 5% of measureable categories within 6 months of hire.

 

Responsibilities

Obtain authorizations for surgical and radiology proceduresVerify insurance and obtain benefitsCommunicate with physician offices regarding status of authorizationsCollect payments for inpatient and ambulatory proceduresRequest and deliver estimates for hospital services prior to service

 

Qualifications

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred; Diploma or equivalent with 1 year of experienceTwo years in a healthcare or related customer service field

Superior written and oral communication skillsExceptional customer service skillsAbility to multi-taskAbility to work in a team environmentKnowledge of healthcare and health insuranceFamiliarity with medical terminologyDisplays positive attitudes towards assignments and others Other Requirements #LI-Onsite Pay Range - Minimum USD $30.08/Hr.
