Patient Access Specialist - HUC II**
Overview Fairview Health Services is hiring a Patient Access Specialist HUC II to join our M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital location in Woodbury, MN. Join us in providing and supporting outstanding care to our patients and community! This position is responsible for completing the financial clearance process within patient access which includes scheduling and registration activities including insurance eligibility and point of service collections. Individuals in this role are expected to demonstrate behaviors that create a welcoming environment and deliver an exceptional experience to patients, families and other customers. The Registration/HUC role must be able to articulate information in a manner that ensures patients, guarantors and family members have clear expectations of their visit and understand their responsibilities. Coordinates phone consults for providers. In coordination with the charge nurse helps facilitate transfer to other facilities. Schedules same day outpatient appointments as needed. Responsible for answering phones, faxing, copying and printing documents. Directs phone calls from interdisciplinary departments to the appropriate staff in a timely manner. Dual job role of Patient Registration and ER Health Unit Coordinator. Ensures registration and pre-registration of various patient types, including inpatient admissions, outpatient, emergency services, and same day surgeries. Schedule: This position will be working 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the overnight shifts with an every other weekend rotation. Deliver an exceptional customer service experience to patients, families and other customers through consistently demonstrating Fairview behaviors. Manage daily worklists and resolve assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Adhere to all compliance and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Required  Two or more combination of customer service or other position in healthcare revenue cycle. Demonstrate the ability to perform accurately and efficiently in EPIC, Microsoft Office Suite, and other computer programs. Patient collections experience in a medical setting. Effective communication skills (both written and verbal), attention to detail, self-directed and a positive attitude are essential.   Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Preferred  Post-Secondary Education Experience being a subject matter expert and demonstrated willingness to support team questions.
