Overview Fairview Health Services is hiring a Patient Access Specialist II to join our M Health Fairview at our University of Minnesota location This position interacts closely with patients, families, providers, and the multidisciplinary teams in a highly organized and professional manner. The Patient Access Services Rep II (PAS II) ensures the exceptional patient experience is achieved by displaying effective customer service, problem solving and communication skills in a friendly, thoughtful empathetic manner. The PAS Rep II is responsible for completing the registration process which includes scheduling and registration activities including insurance eligibility and point of service collections. Additionally, this role coordinates communication between unit-based staff, providers, other departments, and transcription of orders to, help to facilitate care progression of patients. Individuals in this role are expected to demonstrate behaviors that create a welcoming environment and must be able to articulate information in a manner that ensures patients and family members have clear expectations of their visit and understand their responsibilities. Please follow the link here to learn more information: Fairview Benefits Responsibilities Job Description This position is responsible for completing the financial clearance process within Patient Access and creating the first impression of Fairview's services to patients and families and other external customers. The Patient Access Services (PAS) Representative must be able to articulate information in a manner that patients, guarantors and family members understand and so they know what to expect and have an understanding of their financial responsibilities. The PAS Representative will be responsible for completing the pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, as well as interviewing patients and guarantors to obtain insurance information and verifying eligibility. The PAS representative will also work with medical staff, nursing, ancillary departments, and insurance payors. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 1 to 2 years customer service experience in a healthcare or related setting with excellent communication skills and good computer skills. Preferred Qualifications: 1 year of admitting experience and/or health insurance experience. Experience with automated patient account system and basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet applications and Internet. Are you ready to transform healthcare with us?
