Responsibilities
Providence Medical Center is looking for a per diem, variable shift Patient Account Registrar to join our growing and dynamic staff!
The Patient Account Registrar duties include, but are not limited to:
interview the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographicssecure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicablework closely with all facets of the Admitting Department, including PBX operator function and reception areasmust be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve dataable to communicate with the population served utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatricsmaintain proficiency in medical terminologyspecial projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframebe available to work any weekend shift - Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday - 10 or 12 hour shifts QualificationsEducation and Work Experience
previous hospital experience as an admission representative, preferredknowledge of medical terminology, preferredeffective written and verbal communication skillsability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet required timelinesanalytical and problem-solving skillscustomer service experience, requiredhigh school graduate or GED equivalent, required
